How do you get your mind right before you step into the heat or cold? Strong inhales through the nose, followed by some powerful exhales + a silent "C'mon Katie!"
How has contrast therapy benefited you? Contrast has been an incredible recovery to my workouts! Less downtown, and more movement. Most importantly, I feel like I'm able to mentally pivot way faster - I don't get so stuck in a moment as much as I used to.
What would you tell someone new to this practice? You're mentally stronger than you think. Be louder than the voice in your head.
What makes this space so special? The people. Sauna chats are SO FUN + I love getting to hear all the positive things going on in one another's lives. The sauna + cold plunge together creates such a unique vulnerability + really brings people together. I am so grateful for this space
What’s your pro tip for The Deep End? Give breathwork a go! Getting uncomfortable + learning different ways to control your breathing will elevate you beyond these Deep End walls.

How do you get your mind right before you step into the heat or cold? Taking 3- 5 grounding breaths, one hand on heart, one on belly, feeling my inner strength - beat of my heart and the breath in my lungs
How has contrast therapy benefited you? It’s benefited me with muscle recovery/soreness and has helped a lot with my stress and anxiety. I am able to approach challenges in my life with a little more ease and calmness.
What would you tell someone new to this practice? I would remind them it’s only temporary and they can do hard things. Get past the first 30/45 seconds and the turn will happen.
What makes this space so special? The space is so special for many reasons but I love the community. This community not only shows up for themselves but for each other. They cheer each other on, hold space for one another and show up with an open mind to the experience I have planned for them that day.
What’s your pro tip for The Deep End? ake an espresso dunk before the sauna in the summer months.

How do you get your mind right before you step into the heat or cold?
Heat: I love to do breathwork or meditation in silence and by myself. I look forward to these moments of stillness. Cold: 3 deep breaths & sometimes a scream.
How has contrast therapy benefited you?
Confidence & self awareness to do what I need, not what I’m told
What would you tell someone new to the practice?
Listen to your body. Take time to learn what your body wants & needs. You don’t need cold all the time, especially women.
What makes this space so special?
There are no rules. The deep end is all about trusting your intuition.
TDE Pro-tip:
Connect with your body and ask what it wants

How do you get your mind right before you step into the heat or cold? I ground myself by focusing on my breath, clearing my mind and practicing presence.
How has contrast therapy benefited you? The act of staying in the heat or cold when it’s uncomfortable has taught me mental resilience. Showing up even when I don’t want to has taught me discipline, and consistent practice has improved my sleep, back pain and muscle recovery.
What would you tell someone new to this practice? Every day is different. The hardest part is showing up!
What makes this space so special? The community! Everyone is so supportive of each other.
What’s your pro tip for The Deep End? Go into each practice with your intention or your “why” so that you can focus us on that when it feels challenging.

How do you get your mind right before you step into the heat or cold? Committing to the “Why” I am I here, then calling it into my heart space
How has contrast therapy benefited you? Contrast Therapy has helped me "human better” and feel more grounded, less reactive in response to daily stress. I feel warmer when it’s cold out and cooler when it’s hot out - much better at temperature regulation. My symptoms from Raynaud's Syndrome have pretty much disappeared after 15 years of dealing with this disorder that affects small blood vessels in your fingers and toes. It causes spasms in response to cold or stress, leading to skin color changes, cold or numb skin and tingling sensation.
What would you tell someone new to this practice? Trust the process and the intelligence of your body
What makes this space so special? This space is a portal for discovery, recovery and resilience in community to elevate one another.
What’s your pro tip for The Deep End? Your breath is the KEY for EZ transition

How do you get your mind right before you step into the heat or cold?
Before plunging, I typically ask myself my intention. During the challenging moments in either hot or cold, I try to bring awareness to my body and breath and tune out any external stimuli. Staying present in the moment with my mind is crucial. Nothing else matters besides that present moment.
How has contrast therapy benefited you?
I have noticed numerous health benefits in many domains. Physical pain relief, more energy, better sleep, but the most important impact it has had on me is my mental health. I did an experiment a year ago while in a very deep depression. I plunged every day for 30 days. By the end of the month, the depression had lifted, I was back to being able to function throughout my day, and the intense and concerning mental chatter dissolved.
What would you tell someone new to this practice?
Keep going. It can be a challenge mentally, physically, and logistically to form the habit at first, but you will really start to notice the benefits if you keep showing up consistently.
What makes this space so special?
The serene environment and little nuances such as fresh white towels, incense, and the soothing aesthetic makes for such a complete and whole experience. The little things make a big difference!
TDE Pro-tip:
Play the 5 Senses Game if you are struggling in the plunge! 5 things you can see, 4 you can hear, 3 you can feel, 2 you can smell, 1 you can taste..It's a good somatic practice to stay in the present but keep your mind busy too!
